Serialized Items
When a transaction involves a serialized item, you must add a unique serial number for each item in the transaction.
- When you count an item that requires a serial number, you must enter a unique serial number for each item in the inventory count.
- When you move an item that requires a serial number, you must enter a unique serial number for each item in the single move.
- When you issue a serialized item, perform a stock receipt of a serialized item perform a stock return of a serialized item, pick a serialized item, or receive a serialized item, you must enter a unique serial number for each item in the order record line.
Enter Serial Numbers Form
For any consumable inventory transaction, any consumable single move transaction, and an issue, receipt, return, pick, and receive transaction involving a serialized quantity greater than one, the serial number is entered at the Serial Numbers form (see "Serial Numbers Form" for more information).
Serial Number Field
If an order transaction, including the issue, receipt, return, pick, or receive transaction, contains a serialized transaction with a quantity of 1, the serial number may be entered in the Serial Number field.
